“OZ: From the Wonderful Wizard to the World of Warcraft,” the newest exhibit from Albion College Special Collections, features our collection of rare Wizard of Oz volumes.
L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900) is heralded as the first classic American fairy tale. Through the years it has undergone serialization, derivation, censorship, and exhibition. On exhibit are a number of volumes in the series, books about Baum and Oz, examples of derivative works, and memorabilia from the 1939 Wizard of Oz film featuring Judy Garland. The exhibit is located outside of Special Collections. Just follow the yellow brick road to Mudd Level 3! |
