Archives and Special Collections

The Albion College Archives & Special Collections is a place of discovery!

Sacks-class-archivesOver 175 years of records document the history of Albion College and the West Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church. The College records include the official documents, personal papers of alumni and faculty, and A/V material such as photographs, film, and audio records.

We also hold the Archives of the West Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church, which includes official documents and minutes, as well as records of closed churches and retired clergy. The collection also includes the College’s Rare Book Collection with material dating back to the 1400s.

No special credentials or permissions are necessary to use our materials – they are available for everyone to enjoy! Due to staff constraints, however, we require all researchers to schedule an appointment for their visit so we may prepare accordingly.

To request an appointment or ask a research question, please contact us. Also, please read our reference policies, our handling policy and review our holdings prior to visiting the archives.
