Pages and Posts – Understanding the difference
There are two types of content in WordPress, Pages and Posts. It is important to understand the difference in order to create an effective and easy to navigate website for your visitors.
Posts are similar to a journal or diary. Posts…
- are the default type of content in WordPress
- are displayed in reverse chronological order
- are usually on your home page in reverse date order
- are organized into categorizes for easy site navigation
Pages are like single sheets of paper. Pages…
- are timeless – they are not date-significant. Examples of pages are “About Me,” copyright information, etc.
- do not have categories
- are displayed as individual navigation links in your site
