Configure The AdminBar for Productivity

Tell WordPress to display the AdminBar in the front end of your site (the part visitors see) when you are logged in, and speed up your site editing.

  1. Log in to your site’s Dashboard
  2. Under Settings, Select AdminBar
  3. Click the check box to show on the site
  4. Change the color to your preference (optional)
  5. Save Changes

Delete Blog

Steps to delete a site (video demonstration below):

NOTE: When it’s gone, its gone for good! If you need help, please email websupport@albion.edu.

  1. Log in to the blog you want to delete
  2. Glide your mouse over Settings on the menu bar and click the Delete Blog link in the Settings menu.
  3. Click inside the box next to the “I’m sure I want to permanently disable my blog…” text to add a check mark.
  4. Click the Delete My Blog Permanently button
  5. You will receive an email asking you to confirm the deletion. To confirm, click the link in the email and type in your Network username and password when the browser window pops up.

Moving a WordPress Web site

The steps to move your site are as follows (video demonstration below):

  1. Create a site on the new server: http://campus.albion.edu
  2. Log in to your old site and go to Tools -> Export -> Click Download Export File and save the file to your desktop
  3. Back in new site, go to Tools – > Import ->Click WordPress (bottom of list) ->  Browse to the Saved File ->Click Upload and Import
  4. Map Author and Administrator user names to your log in using the drop down boxes.
  5. IMPORTANT: Check the box to Download and Import File Attachments (copies your files to the new site)
  6. Click Submit, then Click “Have Fun” to confirm site has imported. Change theme if needed.
  7. Delete your old blog. Instructions.

Create A Blog

Steps to create a site on campus.albion.edu (video demonstration below):

Note: If you already have a log in for this server, you must log in before requesting another site.

  1. From the home page, click the “Sign Up Now” link
  2. Read the Terms of  Use, then click the “Go To Sign Up Form” link at the end.
  3. Enter the required information and click “Create Blog”
  4. Check your Email to confirm your request. New users will get a second message with user name and password.
  5. Log in to your new site.
  6. Optional: change your password by clicking on your log in name in the upper right corner of the screen.
