Dance!
I have been dancing since I was a child and since my hire at Albion College, I have been the advisor to the Albion College Dance Team. I even danced with them once!
Travel
I love my job and I love to travel. Best of all, I love to travel for my job!
In August 2017, I experienced the Great American Solar Eclipse in Wyoming with my sister.
In June 2015, I gave a talk at the Emergence in Chemical Systems 4.0 Conference in Anchorage, Alaska. In addition to learning how patterns in chemical systems can be used to better understand complicated systems in life on Earth, I took a day or so to explore the city and the sea.
From August 2011 – December 2011, I was in Australia, studying lunar samples at The Australian National University in Canberra. I blogged about my adventures. Click here to read the first one, and click on Australia (at the right or above) to read them all.
In July 2011, I attended the joint ISSOL/BioAstronomy Meeting in Montpellier, France.
In 2008, I attended the International Astrobiology Society Meeting in Florence, Italy.
During the 2006-2007 field season, I was a member of the Antarctic Search for Meteorites (ANSMET) team. You can see us in action in the Polar Palooza Video.
Here I am in the group photo at the Gordon Research Conference – Origin of Life at Bates College (Maine) in 2006.
