The Albion College Student Senate is the primary student governance organization at Albion College. Our essential philosophy, as defined by our Constitution, is “promotion of the welfare, protection of the rights, and representation of the opinions of the students of Albion College in a way consistent with basic principles of republican government and liberal arts education.” We do this by building collaborative relationships with student organizations, staff, faculty, & college leadership, as well as alumni and members of the town of Albion. We champion academic and campus initiatives to enhance the Briton experience, allocate the student activity fund, clarify administrative resources for students, and overall bridge the student body with all other constituents of the Albion Community.
Student Senate is made up of 27 voting Senators who are elected by the student body, as well as a number of non-voting representatives. Our meetings on Mondays at 9:20pm are open to everyone so drop by if you are interested! The general Senate election is held in the Spring, and five Senator positions are reserved for first-year student elections, which are held in the Fall.
